John Fagan B Vet Med MRCVS

John Fagan was born and raised in Leeds. He qualified from the Royal Veterinary College London in 1980 with a Distinction in Surgery. He worked in mixed practice in Ulverston in the Lake District for the first two years since graduating . He then moved to York where he has been ever since. He has attended numerous BSAVA congresses. In the early 90's he attended a specialist orthopaedic course over a period of two years. In the early 2000's he attended a specialist surgery course over a period of two years. He has membership of the BVA, BSAVA, and the the British Veterinary Orthopaedic Association.

Nic Howard BVM&S MRCVS

Qualified June 1981 Edinburgh - spent five years doing largely large animal work on the Yorkshire Wolds. Moved to York to increase small animal experience and skills. Current areas of interest are chronic medicine eg dermatology, gastroenterology and heart disease. Every day is about patient care and applying the knowledge built up from the years of experience. Three years studying homeopathy has given me a keen interest in the holistic approach to patient care.

As past President of the Yorkshire Veterinary Society and it's current Public relations Officer I am heavily involved in maintaining the highest standards of veterinary care in the Yorkshire region.

Nigel Langworthy BVMS MSc. MRCVS

Qualified from Glasgow Vet School in 1986. Worked in mixed practice for 3 years in the Lake District before starting travelling around the world. Worked as a vet in numerous countries including Portugal, Australia, New Zealand, Cameroon, and Tanzania. Picked up a MSc in Tropical Medicine from Edinburgh in 1993. Came back to his home town of York in 1998 and joined the practice then. Nigel does the large animal work for the practice as well as helping out with aspects of small animal practice.

Robert Douwes GPCert(SAS) MRCVS

Qualified in 1997 from Utrecht University in the Netherlands. After having worked for 3 years treating large and small animals in the Netherlands and the Dutch borderlands with Germany and Belgium, he moved to Cornwall in 2000. After another 4 years of mixed practice the decision to specialize in companion animals lead to a move to the west coast of Scotland in 2004. The birth of their son Thomas made the family relocate to Yorkshire in 2006, and finally settled in the flatlands of York in 2007. His main professional interest is small animal surgery and dentistry. He successfully passed the exam at the European School for Postgraduate Veterinary Studies in 2008 and obtained their general practitioner certificate in small animal surgery.

Willie Anderson BVMS MRCVS

Willie retired from the practice in 2001 but has stayed on to do part time work at the Haxby branch. Willie has been with the practice now for over 40 years.

Liz Harland BVMS MRCVS

Liz works at the Fulford branch on a Thursday morning. She does locum and part time work for various practices in the area.

Laura Moll MRCVS

Laura has just had her second child and has come back to the practice after her maternity leave. She works certain days at several of our surgeries.

Ivan Stankov MRCVS

Ivan joined the practice in December 2016. 

Bill Lees BVSc MRCVS

Bill is our out of hours vet who most of you won’t have met! He has been with us now for over 6 years and also does a small animal surgery on Saturday mornings.
